Dental Hygiene Counseling

It's imperative you meet with a counselor at least once a semester. While you may meet with any Oxnard College counselor to discuss your dental hygiene education and career goals, it is recommended you meet with one of the DH counseling listed below at least once early on in your educational journey.

If you have not done so already, please submit the free OC Admission Application to get a student ID number from Oxnard College. Once you have a student ID number and set up your student portal, one of the  DH counselors would be happy to meet with you to discuss your education plan in preparing for the OC Dental Hygiene program.

If there are no appointments at the time you check the system, please be sure to check again on Wednesday evening as that is when appointments are released. In the meantime, you may call the OC General Counseling Department at (805) 678-5816 to inquire when either of the two DH counselors will be available on a drop-in basis. 

If you have completed coursework at another college/university outside of VCCCD, please prepare to provide a copy of your unofficial transcript (digital/ PDF is acceptable) to the counselor during your meeting. If you have international transcripts, please prepare to share a course-by-course foreign transcript evaluation completed by one of the approved agencies that includes course titles in English, the U.S. semester equivalency, and the grades earned.
