Two Year, Tuition-Free Promise

The Oxnard College Promise (The OC Promise) extends the promise of a college education to all incoming first-time, full-time college students by waiving tuition fees and placing them in various support programs their first and second year. The OC Promise is generously supported through State funds and the Oxnard College Foundation.

Requirements:

Submit an Oxnard College application | www.oxnardcollege.edu/apply
Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid or the California Dream Act
Attend an Oxnard College orientation (available online or in-person) | www.oxnardcollege.edu/orientation
Complete a Comprehensive educational plan with an Oxnard College counselor
Be a California resident or AB 540 student. Residency is determined by Admissions and Records.
Be enrolled full-time (12 units or more) at Oxnard College Fall and continue to be enrolled full-time (12 units or more units) at Oxnard College for Spring
- Summer course fees may also be waived if a student enrolls in 12 or more units (full-time) at Oxnard College

OC Promise Frequently Asked Questions(FAQs)

In addition to renewing your FAFSA or California Dream Act application each year and enrolling full-time (12 more units) at Oxnard College, you must also meet the following Qualitative and Quantitative Standards at the end of each semester.

Standard	Minimum Requirement
Qualitative Standard	A 2.00 minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) in all coursework attempted.
Quantitative Standard	A 75% minimum course completion of all coursework attempted.*

*Standard rounding rules apply when calculating a student's quantitative measurement.

Grades-

In determining the above standards, grades of A, B, C, D, P, CR (Credit), or CRE (Credit by exam) are considered completed coursework. Grades of F, I (Incomplete), IP (In Progress), W (Withdrawal), EW (Excused Withdrawal), MW (Military Withdrawal), NC (No Credit), NP (No Pass), and RD (Record Delayed) are not considered completed coursework. All grades are considered attempted units.

Failure to meet these academic standards will result in cancelation of your OC Promise award for the following semester.
