The Oxnard College Veterans Resource Center is your compass from application to graduation.
Welcome to the Veteran Resource Center (VRC). We offer direct support services and serve as a link to external support services for student Veterans, active military personnel, and their families. The VRC Program provides various services, including new student guidance, Veterans counseling, assistance with scholarships and financial aid, access to grants, connection to military-affiliated community services, and more. Additionally, the VRC Program organizes college events focused on aiding reintegration into civilian and college life. It is a place to relax and network with your fellow veterans, active duty service members, and reservists.
We will support you on your educational journey, but please note that we do not handle VA Education Benefits. For this service go to the Veterans Window, Admissions and Records, located on the first floor of the Student Services Building (SSB).
The Veterans Resource Center team will support you in the following ways:

Meet Edlin Garcia
Edlin Garcia is a fellow Condor who previously worked in the Oxnard College Financial Aid office for 5 years. She grew up in Oxnard, attended Oxnard College and earned an AA in Psychology, transferred to UCSB and earned a BA in Psychology, and then completed her Master's degree at the University of La Verne in Educational Counseling.
She has over 14 years of experience in financial aid, veteran benefits, and enrollment management. Some schools she has worked at previously include UCSB, ITT, and Pepperdine University where she assisted students in the matriculation process. She has been recognized as Employee of the Month at Pepperdine University for her dedication to student success. Most recently, she worked as the TRIO counselor and assisted the 1st Step Center in creating ed plans, attending college tours and guiding 1st generation students to success.
In her free time, she likes to attend carnivals/fairs, check out new restaurants, watch movies and spend time with her husband and 2 dogs Enzo and Donatella.
Meet Leo Orange
Leo heads up our Educational Assistance Center. The EAC supports students who have psychological, emotional, and physical disabilities by providing reasonable accommodations. He also heads up our Veterans Resource Center, which helps student veterans navigate our educational programs and provides them a space to relax, study, and hang out on campus. For over two decades, Leo has helped democratize Oxnard College’s services so that all students can access our high-quality education and achieve their full potential.
After earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Rehabilitation Counseling from CSU Los Angeles, he began teaching at his alma mater. Later on, after running our EAC program for many years, Leo was tasked with running our District’s first Veterans Resource Center right here at Oxnard College in order to serve our community’s servicemembers, veterans, and military families.
