Diplomas

Final processing of degree and certificate applications does not begin until all grades have been certified by the Admissions and Record Office, approximately one week after the end of a term. Depending on the volume of applications, processing may take 8 - 10 weeks after the end of the term in which the student applied for graduation.  

Unless otherwise notified, diplomas for degrees and certificates are available no sooner than: 

• Fall semester candidates: March
• Spring semester candidates: August 
• Summer semester candidates: October 

Notifications will be sent to your @my.vcccd.edu email when diplomas are available. 

Students will receive an email from diplomaorder@michaelsutter.com requesting their mailing address.  To receive their diploma, students must open the email from diplomaorder@michaelsutter.com and follow the steps to enter their mailing address.

If you have already received your original diploma and need additional copies, or if you lost your original diploma and need a replacement, complete the Duplicate Diploma Form. 

There is $15 fee per duplicate/replacement diploma. 

Students who graduated in the most recent term and have never received a diploma should check their MyVCCCD email with instructions for claiming their first complimentary diploma.

Students will receive an email from diplomaorder@michaelsutter.com requesting their preferred name and mailing address.  You can enter your diploma name once you receive the email.  Please be advised, we cannot make changes to your diploma name after you have placed your order.

If students need their degree or certificate verified before it has been awarded, students can submit a request by completing the Authorization to Release Information form.  

• In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, also known as FERPA or the Buckley Amendment, the confidentiality and privacy of the academic records of our students must be maintained. Student record information cannot be released to anyone without the student's written consent. The federal law applies to all students attending any college within the Ventura County Community College District, regardless of their age. 
• When a student turns 18 years old or enters a postsecondary institution at any age, the rights under FERPA transfer from the parent to the student.

Diplomas for Certificates of Achievement in IGETC and CSUGE are not printed. To confirm that your certificate has been awarded and you have been certified in IGETC and/or CSUGE, check your VCCCD transcript.
