Associate in Arts in Chicana/o Studies
The Associate in Arts in Chicana/o Studies advances a critical understanding of the Chicana/o and Latina/o experience in the United States. The curriculum is designed to provide an awareness, knowledge, and appreciation of the language, history, culture, politics, and creative accomplishments and contributions of Chicana/o and Latina/o communities. Whether completing the AA in preparation for transfer to a Bachelor's degree program in Chicana/o Studies or to deepen one's understanding of Chicana/o culture, students pursuing the AA in Chicana/o Studies will have the opportunity to select from a wide range of courses that reflect the multidisciplinary approach of the major.

Program Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the AA in Chicana/o Studies students will:
- Critically analyze the Chicana/o experience from a variety of cultural, historical, and socio-political theories and perspectives.
- Apply historical and cultural knowledge of the Chicana/o experience in the analysis of contemporary socio-political issues facing the Chicana/o communities.
- Develop and articulate effective plans for promoting culturally-responsive social change in the Chicana/o communities and broader society.
