Little Condors Preschool Program
The Oxnard College Child Development Center is available to all families without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, or ability. Little Condors Preschool operates with the belief that each family comes with its own unique ethnic, cultural, and familiar backgrounds, values, and beliefs. We strive to foster a secure, loving, and safe environment that encourages each child to develop at their own pace in all areas of development.
Our program is diverse and well-rounded, with a focus on providing a variety of learning experiences with The Creative Curriculum. The staff places a focus on providing activities and environments that are developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive. These activities are further individualized, tailored to children’s specific needs and interests, and designed to honor each child as special and unique. Center staff use positive guidance and strive at all times to foster a climate that is warm and supportive to both children and their parents. In order to provide the best experience for each child, we encourage and invite parents to actively participate.

Program Philosophy
Our program philosophy is that young children learn best “by doing”. We support school readiness through a well-rounded curriculum. The daily program focuses on social and emotional development, language and literacy development, music and movement, and STEAM experiences (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics). Additionally, the program promotes multilingualism and embeds Personalized Oral Language Learning (POLL) strategies to support and build dual-language learners.
Learning Environment
In terms of the Center’s physical and structural layout, its indoor and outdoor learning environments are designed to encourage exploration, discovery, self-direction, responsibility, and decision-making among the children. Children experience a variety of “learning centers,” including creative art, math, science, dramatic play, and manipulative activities. Our planned activities support learning and development of all essential developmental domains including cognitive, language, social-emotional and physical.
